Materials play a leading role in the overall impacts of a
product-contributing roughly 60% of
its environmental footprint.
As such. our goal is straightforward: minimize these impacts by using certified recycled. organic.
renewable. and responsibly-sourced materials.while maintaining the quality and longevity of our product
-with the aim to have 100% of our materials meet these criteria by 2025.
Giving Our Fabrics the Preferential Treatment
The first step to achieving our goals is developing preferred material standards. Across our fiber and material impacts, we account for details like greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption, toxicity, and traceability (to name just a few). We use a variety of tools and certifications to measure and validate these impacts, enabling us to make informed choices about the materials we source.

Our preferred standards are built around scientifically and objectively verified criteria:
Greater environmental sustainability attributes or lower environmental impacts, as demonstrated by LCA studies.
Improved social sustainability attributes, for people or animals.
A robust chain of custody system in place to track or trace the material from origin.
A recognized industry standard.certification.or testing protocol in place for verification.

We're GoodPerformers
We benchmark our preferred material strategy and progress against the Corporate Fiber & Material Benchmark, an industry benchmark and reporting framework put forth by the Textile Exchange. We are pleased to have received a performance level of “Leading Transformational Change” in the industry for the past three years.
